Terms of service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of babybutlerco.myshopify.com and any rental or consulting booking made through it. By placing an order or booking, you agree to these Terms.

Who Can Rent

You must be at least 18 years old and provide accurate, current information to book a rental. By checking the "Renter Verification" box at booking, you confirm that you are the cardholder for the payment method used and intend to actually rent the item — this helps us keep the process fair (and fast) for real families and filter out automated or fraudulent orders.

Bookings & Payment

  • Rentals are booked through our Tipo booking widget on each product page, in weekly or monthly increments (except the SNOO). Need a different length of time, or a rental longer than one month? Email us directly and we'll prorate or arrange it manually.
  • Your payment method is authorized, not charged, at the time of booking. We manually capture (charge) payment once your rental is confirmed.
  • We reserve the right to cancel any order that our fraud-review process flags as high risk, without charging the payment method.
  • Prices shown are in USD and exclude applicable sales tax, added at checkout.
  • After booking, we'll reach out by email to confirm pickup or delivery details before your rental date.

Rental Period & Condition

  • Rental items remain the property of BabyButlerco at all times.
  • Items must be returned in the condition they were received.
  • Late returns: charged twice the weekly rental fee (or twice the monthly fee for the SNOO) for each day the item remains unreturned.
  • Damaged or excessively dirty items: charged the item's full retail value to cover the cost of replacement.

Please inspect equipment on receipt and let us know right away if anything looks damaged or missing.

Cancellations

  • 100% refund if cancelled 7 or more days before your rental start date
  • 50% refund if cancelled 3 to 6 days before your rental start date
  • Non-refundable if cancelled 2 or fewer days before your rental start date

Consulting Sessions

Some services (Financial, Relational, and Business consulting) are offered separately from equipment rentals and are booked the same way through our Site. The cancellation policy above applies to consulting sessions as well, unless we've agreed to different terms with you in writing.

Assumption of Risk & Limitation of Liability

Baby gear (carriers, car seats, strollers, cribs, bassinets, and similar items) is used at your own discretion and judgment as a parent or caregiver.

By renting from us, you acknowledge and agree that:

  • Renting products from Baby Butler involves the risk of serious injury, death, and property damage due to many potential causes, including product malfunction, your negligence, or negligent acts or omissions by Baby Butler.
  • You are responsible for inspecting each item you rent and determining whether it is safe for your intended use. Baby Butler does not ensure the safety of any rental item.
  • At the time of rental, Baby Butler will provide the manufacturer's product manual for each item, and you are responsible for complying with its instructions.
  • In consideration of renting from Baby Butler, you (1) assume the risk of, and full responsibility for, any property damage, death, or injury, and (2) release Baby Butler from all liability, damages, claims, or causes of action related in any way to the items you rent, whether due to product malfunction, your negligence, negligent acts or omissions by Baby Butler, or any other reason.

You'll also sign a physical copy of this agreement, along with providing your home address and phone number, at the time of pickup.

Fraud & Abuse

We use automated fraud screening on all orders. Orders showing signs of stolen payment information, bot activity, or abuse may be cancelled and reported as appropriate.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Iowa, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Site after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
